ABOUT
Every Single Penny is about Lisa. My best friend. My wife of 34 years. She is, for me, beyond “every penny thrown to wish for”, the definition and fulfillment of hope. But specifically, at the time of meeting her, I fell in love for her for three reasons.
1. She was beautiful to me.
2. She defined who she was as person through her faith, and while understanding the focus of a man’s eyes, she would not let anyone take this core of her being away from her, no matter the temptation from me for her to do so. And because of this, she forced me to decide whether she was worth fighting for beyond sensual convenience for something far more profound. Much more profound. The achievement of this brought me to faith. The relationship of faith. This intense allurement, this ‘not being able to have without proof’ drives a man to the best of what he is and can be.. Yup. So with a swanky beat, and words that are fun, we have ‘Cowboy Man’. Orchestration of the song? I love interesting combinations. To work with the familiar and lean into it a bit of the odd. Sounds that tingle. Enjoy…or question…both are Ok.
3. She saw a deep worth in herself, demanding that a man prove himself to be worthy.
The real stuff, the core of romantic fables, procuring an essence that a man responds to. And I responded. She proves to me time and time again that good work with waiting and faith always brings something greater.
